Let's say you want to check how the number of transactions in each month compares in two different years. 

Get started by counting your transactions by month

If you click the line chart option, your results might look something like this:

Next, we need extract both the month and the year and add them as new columns:

  1. Click the header of the column containing the date
  2. Click more options.
  3. Scroll down to the extract section and click year. The new column modal will appear. 
  4. Give the new column a name (e.g. year).
  5. Click done
  6. Repeat steps 1-3, but, this time, click the month option.
  7. In the new column modal, tick the replace existing column option.
  8. Click done

All done! You should have a table containing 3 columns:

  • The month (i.e. values between 1 and 12)
  • The year (e.g. 2017, 2018 etc)
  • The transactions count.
